Intuitive Painting Videos
The first three videos are inspirations for doing intuitive painting. There are NO rules when it comes to intuitive painting so don’t feel that you have to follow what I do here. If you feel moved to do something different, like painting with your feet or using pastels or charcoal with your acrylics, by all means, do so. Painting intuitively is wonderful for healing, for putting your mind in a quiet Alpha Brainwave state, and for doing and creating something outside of your normal comfort zone. Here I am just showing you how intuitive painting can also be done. I usually start with either warm or cool colors for the first layer, then let the first layer dry. This way the warms and cools don’t mix and create ‘mud’. I work on more than one canvas at a time so each layer has time to dry. More often than not, the colors that start a painting are dictated by what I had on my pallet from before. Since the acrylic paints are expensive and I don’t like waste, I always make sure to use the leftovers from any given painting by starting up a new canvas. How I start each canvas it is completely random, as you will see in the following videos and classes.
After the Intuitive Paintings follow some technical advice videos.
Time Lapse- Intuitive Painting- Tree Hand
This canvas starts out with strictly warm colors, then cool ones, and ends up with positive words and imagery of trees, a human hand trying to grasp it all, and a river that flows through like rivers always do.
Time lapse- Intuitive painting- Indian Summer
I admit it- I love Trees. Here they show up again in an intuitive painting. I share a story I heard years ago of trees and the danger or blessing of becoming pregnant.
Timelapse Intuitive painting- Water Plant
Starting out with a canvas with bright colors and outlining the areas with a paint marker (more about those in a later class but they are awesome to work with) this turns into a tribute to our beautiful planet with land and water in loving embrace.
Technical Tips
These are older videos discussing the best pallet to get, how to clean your pallet, and how to use a spatula, a fan brush, and the small round brush.
