Painting Lesson 5 – Naturally Occurring Colors
There are colors that when used to illustrate are above interpretation, They simply show what we all see around us in nature. It is hard to paint air (although we found ways of illustrating translucent objects in Class 3) air in itself cannot be captured; however, illustrating air by painting a windy spring sky will elude to air moving. Sometimes an artist just have to use metaphors!!
Part 1
Starting out with an idea: To capture the natural colors of the four Elements. Teach how to paint water, fire, earth, and (illustrate) air. Combine the imagery in a design that looks pleasing.
Part 2
Working on the four elements and deciding to make a Tree of Life to combine them.
Part 3
Finishing the Tree of Life and adding additional unifying touches to the squares of the Elements.
