Journey to the Helping Ancestors

A while back I realized that I had been avoiding connecting with my ancestors. I decided to listen inwards for the cause of this resistance. This is what I heard: “I don’t have a very large family”, and “I wouldn’t want to disturb them- they are dead and gone” and “the ancestors I know were teachers, nurses, architects, masons, and farmers. But that was then- what do they know of today’s changed world” and listening even deeper “I am from a country built on violence. My ancestors were Vikings- warriors that killed people and had slaves”.

Let’s address this one first: That IS an aspect that runs through humanity; Violence against our fellow man. The reptilian brain, the monkey mind that fights for resources. However, once I started journeying to my Ancestors I saw another aspect of the story. I met a wise woman from the Viking era who fearlessly gathered herbs in the forest for healing potions, ran a farm while her husband had gone Viking, and fed and clothed a huge household with fairness and love. She also told me that some people among here feared the forest believing it to be haunted. She saw that the fearful stories of monsters and ghastly things came from the fear in people’s own hearts. She showed me how to listen and be at one with the forest and told me that it is useless to reason with people who let the fear run their lives. The best life is the one where you follow your own path wherever it may lead you. She was deeply grounded and lived in the Now.

This is just one example of an ancestor who even if she lived in a violent time had universal knowledge of the nature of Love and how fear can affect us and shut us down. I am very grateful for her wisdom. And realizing that her DNA also lives in me (among so many other strands of course) I realize that I now find it easier to BE in that groundedness.

So this is what I now know: You are made up of the DNA of your ancestors. We all are. We are here because our ancestors survived whatever hardships they endured. Thousands of years of evolution have brought about the miracle that is You today, the many strands of DNA that compose the unique individual that is you. And you can contact your Helping Ancestors by connecting through those strands of DNA.

I also realized this: Not connecting with the Helping ancestors is like refusing to take a glass of water even if you are thirsty. And in turn refusing help to grow and thrive will hurt not just yourself but all the people you come into contact with throughout your life. Because they don’t get the benefit of meeting and dealing with the evolved and very best you. So, please join me for a journey to the Helping Ancestors.

Journey to the Helping Ancestors.

This is a Middle World Journey and we are journeying to the River of Life, to the banks of the River of Life to meet the Helping Ancestors. Please be safe and responsible and don’t listen to this while driving or operating heavy machinery!

Drumming Track

I enjoy using different drum beats when I journey, either by listening to a recording from another shamanic drummer or varying things up myself when I drum. While recording this drumming track I spontaneously started to journey; you might hear the changes in speed and beat as it goes along. The track is 12 minutes long and has a return beat.
