Studying Saturation

CLASS 4

Studying Saturation

Introduction

I am so happy to welcome you to class 4- Studying Saturation!

The definitions of Saturation is explained under Color theory- 4:5. And for this class we will be using the idea of saturation- fullness of colors- to the ‘fullest’ extent and take it into living full lives for now and for our future selves.

The Shamanic Journey will be to visit our Future Self  and what dream to strengthen to bring the happy future you want. This is a great journey-bringing life here and now into a much larger perspective. If you feel like it, do share this journey on the FB group- it is very inspiring to read of other people’s journeys and experiences.

I realized i have not done enough Body Connectivity in the last class so I want to make up for that right away, by sharing my favorite go-to exercises (stretches, really) named the 5 Tibetans. They are said to keep you flexible and young looking way beyond your years. And I am all for that. No guarantees of course but they definitely improve both posture and breathing for me. I am placing a pdf under Supplies 4:2 for you and give you a link to see the animations for them as well.

The drawing lesson is another way to expand and extend ourselves- by drawing with the non-dominant hand. This expands our brain wave patterns so we can become equally strong using both left and right brain hemispheres.

The Painting lesson shows how to mix saturated complementary colors into desaturated colors, and then use both types in a painting.

Our guest is Jefffifer Shoemaker- a scientist who due to repetitive stress syndrome had to rethink her life and did so in a big way- moving off the grid and totally retraining herself to trust her intuition and her own choices for happiness. In doing so she realized there was a method she was using to inquire into her choices and decided to make a video explaining to others how to do so.

The three intuitive paintings are meant to push you on to try your own hand at choosing highly and not so highly saturated colors and use them in your own expression. For these paintings there is no plan when starting out; each individual painting changes course many times over!

Again- I know how much I enjoyed creating this class and hope you will enjoy going through all the sections, doing the exercises and lessons and making your own paintings; and sharing them with the group!

I am looking forward to connecting with you on our closed Facebook Group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/artisessential/

Enjoy Painting on the Heart side of the Brain!

Much love,

Susanne

Instagram Prompt

Take pictures of things with desaturated colors in your surroundings. If it is winter where you are, you may have plenty of desaturated colors to choose from- likewise if it summer, you may have many saturated colors. So take pictures of both saturated and desaturated objects and post on Instagram using #paintingonheartsideofbrain.
