Intuitive Painting Videos
The first three videos are inspirations for doing intuitive painting. There are NO rules when it comes to intuitive painting so don’t feel that you have to follow what I do here. If you feel moved to do something different, like painting with your feet or using pastels or charcoal with your acrylics, by all means, DO so. Painting intuitively is wonderful for healing, for putting your mind in a quiet Alpha Brainwave state, and for doing and creating something outside of your normal comfort zone. Here I am just showing you one way of doing intuitive painting. I usually start with either warm or cool colors for the first layer, then let the first layer dry. This way the warms and cools don’t mix and create ‘mud’. I work on more than one canvas at a time so each layer has time to dry. More often than not, the colors that start a painting are dictated by what I had on my pallet from before. Since the acrylic paints are expensive and I don’t like waste, I always make sure to use the leftovers from any given painting by starting up a new canvas. How I start each canvas is completely up to intuition at the time, as you will see in the following videos and classes.
After the Intuitive Paintings follow a couple of technical advice videos.
Time Lapse- Intuitive Painting- Metamorphosis
A canvas starts out as jagged shapes in cool colors- working slowly and letting intuition take the helm, this changes to a celebration of morphing from one stage to the next in our day, our minds, our lives.
Time lapse- Intuitive painting- Sacral Journey
This time I am starting with a variety of strong, warm colors. The new colors I pull in to this canvas that I did not put on the supplies list are Vat Orange, Red Oxide, and Pthalo Green. And I give you some ideas for balancing the chakras.
Timelapse Intuitive painting- Shining Through
I am having fun writing words in these intuitive paintings! Sometimes I feel like words have an energy I want to put on my canvas right away. I know I can always cover them up if I don’t want to let them stand out in the final layer. There is a well of power in writing words. Sometimes the power is in the catharsis we feel to get the words out.
Technical Tips
These are older videos discussing the best pallet to get, how to clean your pallet, and how to use a fan brush and the small round brush.
